Motors design executive will direct
the worlds #1 automotive design exhibit this June
GROSSE POINTE PARK, MI., February 27, 2001 - EyesOn Design, the worlds only car show to focus on the aesthetics of automotive design, has announced that William (Bill) D. Scott, director of interior design quality for General Motors Corporation, will serve as general chairman for the EyesOn Design 2001 automotive exhibit and series of events.
Scott began his career with General Motors as a creative designer in 1963 and has served in numerous roles including chief designer, design executive and brand character director in addition to his current role. He has been active in all but one of the 14 EyesOn Design shows and has served as the GM Design representative for most of the 13 years in which he has participated.
The 2001 EyesOn Design series of events run from Friday to Sunday, June 15 17 and feature the following:
- Friday, June 15 - Eve of the Eyes An informal social event honoring the design profession with special recognition given to a design educator who has influenced many design professionals today.
- Saturday, June 16 - Vision Honored Banquet A "black tie" dinner honoring the automotive design community and presentation of a lifetime achievement award to an outstanding automotive designer.
- Sunday, June 17 (Fathers Day) - Private Eyes Brunch An elegant brunch for those attending the EyesOn Design automotive exhibit as well as for those honoring "Dad" on Fathers Day.
- Sunday, June 17 - EyesOn Design A "Celebration of Automotive Design" featuring more than 250 of the worlds finest vehicles and judging by automotive designers in 17 vehicle categories. Location is at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan.
All EyesOn Design events are open to the public.
