Design selects its leadership team
and announces the winner of its Lifetime Achievement Award
The
engines are revving-up for the worlds
#1 automotive design exhibit this June
GROSSE POINTE PARK, MI., April 10, 2002 * EyesOn Design, one of the worlds premier car shows and the only show to focus on the emotion and character of automotive design, announced its leadership team and the winner of its Lifetime Achievement Award today for the 2002 automotive exhibit and series of events which will take place June 7 9 at the DaimlerChrysler Technology Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan. They are:
Dieter Zetsche
Honorary Chairman, EyesOn Design 2002
Dieter Zetsche has been President and CEO of DaimlerChrysler Corporation since
November 2000. In this capacity, he is responsible for the worldwide operations
of Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge, as well as for Mercedes-Benz USA, Canada
and Mexico. He has been a member of the DaimlerChrysler AG Board of Management
since the company was formed in November 1998. He was initially elected a
member of the former Mercedes-Benz AG Board of Management in 1992 and the
former Daimler-Benz Board of Management in 1997. He joined Daimler-Benz AG
in the research division in 1976.
Frederick
P. Bane General Chairman, EyesOn Design 2002
Frederick Bane is director of manufacturing business development for MSX International,
an Auburn Hills, Michigan-based global outsourcing company providing business
and technology services to automotive and other industries. He is responsible
for new business development focused on low volume manufacturing, niche product,
accessories and specialty vehicles in automotive, non-automotive and the new
emerging markets. He has been with MSX since 1990 and has served in several
roles for the company including director of manufacturing, senior program
manager and plant manager. Bane has been involved in numerous volunteer leadership
positions within EyesOn Design for several years.
Thomas C.
Gale EyesOn Design Lifetime Achievement Award
Thomas C. Gale is the recipient of the 2002 EyesOn Design Lifetime Achievement
Award for his stellar career in automotive design. Gale retired from his
position as Member, Board of Management, DaimlerChrysler AG and Executive
Vice President - Product Development & Design, Chrysler Group in December
2000. Gale joined the then Chrysler Corporation in 1967 and was elected
a vice president of the company in 1985. He served numerous design leadership
roles within Chrysler including:

What:
Eve of the Eyes An informal social event honoring the design profession and open to the general public. The event will honor Carl Olsen (retired), College of Creative Studies in Detroit, as the Honored Design Educator. Eve of the Eyes is a preview of the EyesOn Design exhibition featuring vehicles of the past, present and future. Eve of the Eyes is hosted by ASC Incorporated.

Saturday, June 8
What:
Vision Honored Creative Formal/Black Tie Automotive Design Banquet. The evening will include presentation of the EyesOn Design Lifetime Achievement Award to Tom Gale, former Member, Board of Management, DaimlerChrysler AG and Executive Vice President - Product Development & Design, Chrysler Group. Vision Honored is hosted by DuPont Automotive, Johnson Controls and Delphi Automotive.

EyesOn Design Auto Exhibit A celebration of Automotive Design featuring more than 200 of the worlds finest vehicles. Judging by automotive designers will take place with crystal awards being presented mid-day to the owners of the Best of vehicles.
