FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The “Art of Design” Selected as the Theme for the 2006 EyesOn Design Car Show

Rolling Sculptures of Beauty Showcased at 19th Annual Event

GROSSE POINTE PARK, MI., April 25, 2006 - EyesOn Design, the world’s only car show to focus on the emotion and character of automotive design, announced that its theme for the 19th Annual EyesOn Design Automotive Exhibit is the “Art of Design.”

This year’s EyesOn Design Automotive Exhibit will be held on Sunday, June 18, Father’s Day, at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores, MI.

The 2006 Vehicle Selection Committee, comprised of some of the industry’s top designers, has selected approximately fourteen categories of cars. Each category corresponds with a different art trend that has been reflected in vehicle design styles. Among them will be cars in categories such as Abstract Expressionism, Cubism/Futurism (1960s), Found Art, The Traditional Hot Rod, Modernism (1950s), Motorcycles, Performance Art (Race Cars), Pop Art (Muscle Cars), Realism (1940s), Renaissance (Classics), Romanesque (Sports Cars), Romanticism (British).

EyesOn Design is unique in that it is a celebration of design, not of vehicle rarity, restoration or celebrity ownership. The 2006 theme reflects a heritage of almost two decades of celebrating the automobile design profession. At its first show, celebrating the career of Gordon Buehrig, the leadership committee emphasized the importance of Buehrig’s dictum that great auto design is “Rolling Sculpture”. The show continues to follow this unique perspective.

EyesOn Design has always been known as an “International Celebration of Automotive Design of the Past, the Present and the Future.” In keeping with the International aspect of the show we have sponsorship by Honda, Hyundai, Nissan and Toyota, in addition to support from domestic automotive manufacturers. Each will celebrate the universal appeal of “Rolling Sculpture”, along with this year’s Honorary Chairman, Mark Fields, Ford Motor Company Executive Vice President and President of The Americas.

Tickets for the 2006 EyesOn Design Automotive Exhibit can be obtained by calling EyesOn Design at 313.824.EYES (3937).
