Friends of Vision to Raffle 1999 Convertible

GROSSE POINTE SHORES, Mich., June 2 -- The Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology's (DIO) Friends of Vision volunteer organization is offering a 1-in-618 chance of winning a 1999 candy apple red Chrysler Sebring Convertible at the 1999 EyesOn Design automotive exhibition being held Father's Day, June 20 at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House. All proceeds from the $100 a ticket raffle will go to support the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology.

"We only have 618 tickets available," said Friends of Vision President Sandi Jorgensen. "The DaimlerChrysler Corporation donated the vehicle and all the money we raise will go directly to our programs to support the visually impaired in metro Detroit."

Tickets for the raffle can be obtained in advance with a credit card by calling (313) 824-4710 or at the show. The winner will be announced June 18th at EyesOn Design.

Friends of Vision is the volunteer arm of the DIO. Since 1977, this dedicated group has coordinated one of the largest systems of support groups for the blind and visually impaired adults in the United States. They also raise funds for the DIO by hosting the Visions to Remember Antiques Show in February.

The DIO is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation founded in 1972. It operates the only Allied Health Education accredited Ophthalmic Assistant program and two-year Ophthalmic Technician program in Michigan, one of only 13 nationwide.
