Research Grant Review Experts
Volunteers are used in the grant review process to assist the Institute
in its review of grant applications received for projects related
to our research initiatives. These research initiatives are related
to projects having to do with the relationship between vision and
the safe operation of motorized vehicles (The Eye and The Auto), and
projects related to artificial vision or the relationship between
electronic chips and a prosthetic retina (The Eye and The Chip). Volunteers
obviously must have an extensive scientific background in order to
study the proposals submitted.
The Institute, in addition to granting research funds to projects
related to The Eye and The Auto and The Eye and The Chip, presents
an annual colloquium on one of these two subjects. The subject matter
varying from year to year at two-year intervals.
