We are the only fully approved school for ophthalmic assistants in Michigan.
Therefore, every ophthalmologist, as well as hospitals with departments of ophthalmology and ambulatory surgery centers which perform ophthalmic surgery, look to the Institute for professionally trained help. In addition, all eyes in the ophthalmic world read our newsletter, which is received by over 2600 persons in Michigan and the Central Great Lake States. It is the source of information relative to our educational programs. The newsletter's "want ad" section advertises available positions in the ophthalmic field.

Dear Prospective Student,

The Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology (DIO) offers the only fully approved ophthalmic assistant training program in Michigan. Please visit our web site at www.eyeson.org., to keep informed about our future plans for this program. Best wishes as you consider a career as an ophthalmic assistant.
