Phil's Thoughts
Introduction
In the age of the Internet the avalanche of fascinating “bits” flying about is almost too much to comprehend much less appreciate. Phil’s Thoughts is a place to check daily for pieces we think you will relish and perhaps pass on. Our corner will carefully avoid the tawdry and the base, and will generally also avoid politics, religion and scummy stuff.
Check our corner frequently. We believe it will bring joy, wonder, a smile, an interesting piece of information, or a surprise to the ebb and flow of the tides of your life. Feel free to send along items which come your way that you feel others might enjoy finding at Phil’s Thoughts.
Trees
A Poem by: Joyce Kilmer (1886- 1918)
I THINK that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by people like me,
But only God can make a tree.
