In January, the DIO presents a crystal Design Award to two exceptional vehicles, one production and one concept introduced at The North American International Auto Show.  A highly distinguished international panel of automotive designer judges from various design disciplines select the award recipients.  It is held at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan.

The EyesOn Design Car Show, in June,  is an international exhibition which celebrates automotive design excellence and is held annually on Father’s Day at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan. It features vehicles from the past, present and future with a changing theme each year. A distinguished panel of automotive designer judges awards vehicle(s) top honors.

Buy your ticket for the Twenty-first Annual Friends of Vision Raffle. Only 500 tickets will be sold.

Your $100 raffle ticket serves as one admission to EyesOn Design.  Drawing will take place on June 19, 2011 at 3:30 pm at the EyesOn Design Automotive Exhibition at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores. In October each year the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology/Detroit Free Press sponsor a marathon.  DIO has been one of the “Run for Reason” Charities since 2005 you can “Lend an Arm” by partnering with a Visually Impaired or Blind participant, or you can enter on your own.

Participants can register for:

• 5K Fun Run & Fitness Walk Kids Mini-Marathon
• Marathon & Half Marathon
• Half-Marathon Competitive Walk or Non-Competitive Walk
• 5-Person Marathon Relay Teams

Participate in any of the events and collect pledges for the DIO.
